About the Role
As our Manufacturing Development Engineer II, you'll play a crucial role in creating, maintaining, and enhancing our manufacturing processes, standards, and systems. You'll be at the forefront of new product development and deployment, working closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement cutting-edge manufacturing solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Mechanical Engineering, Product Management, Drafting, Tooling Design, Compliance, Quality, and Production) to develop products that maximize efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
- Optimize manufacturing processes, tooling, and documentation to enhance productivity and product quality
- Provide technical guidance and support across departments, integrating new technologies and methodologies into our manufacturing processes
- Ensure product quality meets stringent standards and work with Quality teams to address any issues
- Develop functional prototypes and samples for customer approval and product testing
- Perform cost engineering functions, including estimating, budgeting, and forecasting
- Conduct time studies to optimize production processes
- Support the Product Lifecycle Engineering team with configurable fast tracks, change management, and low-volume production
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principles and process optimization techniques
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field
- 3+ years of professional experience in manufacturing engineering or a similar role
- Strong expertise in mechanical and electromechanical systems/assemblies design
- Experience in product evaluation and manufacturing process optimization
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and team-focused with excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience in rebuilding processes, guidelines, and standards for operations (preferred)
- LSSBB certification is a plus
- Product development experience is highly desirable
