Job Summary
The Commercial Senior Financial Analyst will partner with Sales, Marketing & Research and Development (R&D) departments, developing and maintaining financial models and reports for decision support, assisting with forecasting the company’s operational costs, analyzing actual financial results, supporting the business with financial implications of business changes and conducting ad hoc reporting and analyses as needed. This role will be instrumental for driving improved margins, growth, market share and providing analytical insights and decision support for Sales, Marketing & R&D leaders.
What will you do?
- Coordinate annual operating plan (budget) for Sales, Marketing & R&D departments
- Support assigned business partners with expense reporting, forecasting and planning at a cost center level
- Generate quarterly forecasts and provide suggestions to ensure achievement of key performance metrics
- Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance versus plan and forecast
- Identify risks, opportunities, and gaps to forecast and plan. Identify and recommend corrective action plans to mitigate key risks
- Develop reports for management using business intelligence tools and advanced Excel
- Collaborate with the Quote to Cash Process owner on business process improvement related to pricing and sales operations changes and ensure the financial implications are understood
- Collaborate with Marketing & R&D on business process improvement initiaives and ensure the financial implications are understood
- Provide financial support for business decisions by creating and maintaining financial models, performing economic research, analyzing rates of return, depreciation, working capital, profitability, and cash flow impacts
- Report on actual financial performance vs. initial expectations for assigned business cases
- Support the company’s strategic plans by analyzing and reporting performance of growth initiatives and identifying key performance indicators
- Support monthly financial close activities and group reporting to parent company
- Further develop, optimize and automate financial management reporting
- Participate in continuous improvement and optimize existing processes to facilitate decision support and improve financial performance
- Continuously identify opportunities to provide enhanced insights into the business and drive efficiency and profitability
- Ad-hoc financial analysis and participation in special projects as requested by management
- Collaborate with colleagues in Germany to ensure consistent treatment of financial KPIs, sales controlling activities and business models
What will you bring to the table?
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent. MBA a plus
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of Financial Planning & Analysis experience including 3+ years of experience as a financial analyst supporting Commercial Finance (pricing, sales channel, marketing, rebates, etc.)
- Strong business acumen, ability to negotiate and influence decision making
- Analytical, Interpersonal, Organizational, and Project Management exposure
- Successfully deal with Ambiguity and Change, Comfort Around Higher Management, and Presentation skills
- Experience with Proforma modeling, ROI and risk assessment
- Experience working in a large multi-national environment
- Ability to analyze and identify key issues, convey results and present alternatives in a concise manner to Senior Management
- Broad understanding of the business and processes and able to make necessary linkages of business factors to the impact on plan and results
- Advanced experience with MS Excel and Database tools
- Experience with SAP, Power BI
- SAP implementation experience preferred
Working Conditions/Physical Demands, Travel, etc.
The majority of time is spent sitting at a workstation working on a computer. The job requires frequent high attention to detail involving data entry and review of accounting and financial data. The jobholder must also meet daily and monthly report deadlines with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
