Job Summary

As a Business Development Manager, you will work with local customers to solve application problems and to specify the most optimal Turck solution. You’ll focus efforts on significant Turck opportunities with an emphasis on unique solutions and high dollar/high margin sales while introducing, presenting, training and promoting Turck primarily in territory US02 (northern California and Nevada) and lend support to other West Coast territories when needed. Your field experience will assist you as you propose new products for development.

What will you do?

  • Focus on sales and technical support for Fieldbus Technology products
  • Identify and promote other Turck product offerings when they are discovered
  • Lead the technical sales effort to specify products for significant projects and/or OEM business
  • Contribute to the successful rollout of new products
  • Travel to customers to demo, start up, resolve issues and close business
  • Calculate costing and pricing of products and services to win business at a sustainable margin
  • Assist others in becoming better at selling/understanding our products
  • Identify and suggest new products, modifications, line expansion and accessories that are needed to grow in specific markets
  • Supply application stories/examples to expand company knowledge base
  • Assist in forecasting and sales planning

What will you bring to the table?

Bachelor’s degree (technical degree preferred) and a minimum of two years of experience working in a related position for an industrial automation company OR ten years of sales and technical experience

Working Conditions/Physical Demands, Travel, etc.

The Business Development Manager will maintain a home office in the California bay area. This position requires local auto travel as needed (approximately 2-3 days/wk) and travel to the factory for sales meetings, to conduct seminars, and to attend team meetings and training (approximately 2-3x per year)
